Foreign Ministry's Secretary General Meets German Ambassador

Doha / Information Office / January 25 HE Secretary General of the Foreign Ministry, Dr. Ahmed bin Hassan Al Hammadi, on Thursday met with HE Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, Hans-Udo Muzel. The meeting reviewed bilateral relations and means of boosting and developing them, in addition to issues of mutual interest.



Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Meets UK International Trade Secretary

Davos / Information Office / January 24 HE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani met on Wednesday with HE UK Secretary of State for International Trade Liam Fox, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos. The meeting discussed the bilateral relations and ways to boost and develop them, as well as the topics of common interest. The meeting was attended by HE Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani.


Qatar, Kyrgyz Republic sign air services agreement

Doha: The Minister of Transport and Communications H E Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti and the Minister of the Transport and Roads of the Kyrgyz Republic Jamshitbek Kalilov signed today an air services agreement between Qatar and the Kyrgyz Republic. The agreement comes within the framework of connecting Qatar with more air services agreements, permitting its national carrier to expand its destinations all around the world. Following the signing ceremony, the two ministers discussed the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries in the fields of transport, mobility and aviation and means of further enhancing them. The two officials also agreed to sign an MoU in the near future in the field of land transport. The MoU will focus on commodities and goods transportation from Bishkek to Doha on 7-day trips. This comes within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) that aims to revive the Silk Road that connects Asia, Africa and Europe to form an economic belt to help expand economic and cultural exchange, as well as to link groups of small emerging nations and traditional G20 emerging nations.


Qatar Condemns Kabul Attack

Doha / Information Office / January 21 The State of Qatar has strongly condemned the attack that targeted a hotel in the Afghan capital Kabul, leaving a number of deaths and injuries. In a statement today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated Qatar's firm stance on rejecting violence and terrorism, regardless of motives and reasons. The statement expressed Qatar's condolences to the families of the victims, the government and the people of Afghanistan, and wished the injured speedy recovery.


Qatar Calls for Global Conference on Preventive Diplomacy

HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi said the State of Qatar is proposing to hold a global conference on preventive diplomacy and is ready to host it out of its belief in the importance of the firm role that preventive diplomacy plays as a main pillar in the vision of the U.N. Secretary General and Doha's sense of responsibility to support his efforts and the success of his initiatives to achieve peace.


Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Meets Kyrgyz First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs

HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi has met with HE First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Dinara Kemelova, on the sidelines of the 44th session for foreign ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Abidjan. The meeting discussed bilateral relations and ways to develop and strengthen them. HE the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs briefed the Kyrgyz minister on the latest developments of the siege imposed on the State of Qatar by some OIC member states, which resulted in humanitarian and social damage.


Qatar Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic received the Chairman of the “Yiman” Fund for Spiritual Culture Development

Today, the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Kyrgyz Republic H.E. Mohamed Bin Arar Alnaimi received Mr. Nurzhighit Kadyrbekov, the Chairman of the “Yiman” Fund for Spiritual Culture Development. During the meeting, Mr. Nurzhighit Kadyrbekov told about the activities to be carried out by the Fund in the forthcoming period, which would be financed by the charitable organizations of the State of Qatar. For his part, the Ambassador highly appreciated the Fund for making a good figure in the sphere of spiritual culture development in the Kyrgyz Republic. The “Yiman” Fund for Spiritual Culture Development was founded by the Order of the Kyrgyz Republic President dated January 22, 2014.


Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Kyrgyz Republic met with the Minister of Agriculture, Land Reclamation and Food Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic

Today, in the building of the Ministry of Agriculture, Land Reclamation and Food Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, Mr. Nurbek Murashev, the Head of the Department, received the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Kyrgyz Republic H.E. Mohamed Bin Arar Alnaimi. During the meeting, they dealt with matters of bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and means of enhancing and promoting them, including those on exporting food products of the Kyrgyz Republic to the State of Qatar.
