HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani met here today with HE the Speaker of the Iraqi Council of Representatives Saleem Al Jabouri, who is currently visiting the country. The meeting discussed supporting and developing bilateral relations, and a number of topics of common concern.

The State of Qatar welcomed the adoption by the UN Security Council of resolution 2401, which calls for a cessation of hostilities without delay in Syria. An official source at the Foreign Ministry called on the Security Council to continue serious and immediate work to protect civilians in Syria and to ensure that humanitarian assistance reaches all those in need.

HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi and HE Foreign Ministry's Secretary-General Ahmed bin Hassan Al Hammadi met here on Thursday with sisterly and friendly countries' ambassadors accredited to the State of Qatar. During the meeting, the two senior diplomats updated the ambassadors on the developments of the Gulf Crisis. The State of Qatar's relations with the sisterly and friendly countries and matters of mutual interest have also been discussed.

The State of Qatar expresses its strong denouncement and condemnation of the massacres and intensive aerial bombardments carried out by the forces of the Syrian regime forces in the besieged Eastern City of Al Ghouta, which led to hundreds of deaths and injuries of innocent civilians, most of whom were women and children.

HE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani on Wednesday met Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and Palestine Sheikh Muhammad Hussein on the sidelines of the 13th Doha Conference on Interfaith Dialogue. The meeting reviewed developments in Palestine and issues of mutual interest.

HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani met on Tuesday with HE the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Integration and International Cooperation of the Republic of Chad Cherif Mahamat Zene.

HE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani reaffirmed that any dialogue with the siege countries will not be at the expense of the sovereignty of the State of Qatar, stressing the need to have basic principles for any dialogue, with these principles shielded by a clear mechanism to settle conflicts.
