Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Meets Iraqi Foreign Ministry Delegation

HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Soltan bin Saad Al Muraikhi met on Wednesday with a high-level delegation from the Iraqi Foreign Ministry. During the meeting, they discussed the bilateral relations, means of boosting them and enhancing cooperation prospects, as well as issues of common concern. A number of officials at the Foreign Ministry attended the meeting.



Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Meets Canadian Parliament Delegation

HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani met today with the delegation of the Canadian Parliament, currently visiting the country. HH the Emir Sends Verbal Message to Sudanese President

HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al -Thani has sent a verbal message to HE President Omar Hassan Al-Bashir of the Republic of Sudan, pertaining to bilateral relations and means of boosting them. The message was conveyed by HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, during a meeting with HE the Sudanese President here today.

HE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, who is currently visiting Khartoum, met here on Sunday with HE Foreign Minister of the Republic of the Sudan Prof. Ibrahim Ghandour. During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations and means to support and promote them in addition to topics mutual interest.



Qatar Inform UN Security Council of UAE Boat's Kidnapping of A Qatari Fishing Boat

The State of Qatar informed the UN Security Council and the UN Secretary-General that Qatari marine surveillance saw on Friday January 19 of 2018 an UAE naval ship unload a boat into the Qatari economic zone. The boat then obstructed and kidnapped a Qatari fishing boat that had seven fishermen and a captain aboard them, all of whom were Indian nationals. The fishermen were forced at gunpoint to enter the UAE economic zone.


Qatar Informs UN Security Council, UN Secretary-General of Three Air Violations by UAE and Bahrain

The State of Qatar informed the UN Security Council and the UN Secretary-General of three air violations of Qatar's sovereignty committed by the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Bahrain. This came in a message by HE the Permanent Representative of Qatar to the United Nations Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani to the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and Security Council president for March Karel van Oosterom.


Qatar Strongly Condemns Mosque Explosion in Kabul

The State of Qatar expressed strong condemnation and denunciation over the explosion that targeted a mosque in the Afghani capital of Kabul and left a number of people killed and wounded. In a statement issued Friday, the Foreign Ministry reiterated the State of Qatar's firm stance in rejection of violence and terrorism no matter what the motives and reasons were.


HH the Emir Witnesses Signing of Cooperation Arrangements with EU

HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani on Wednesday witnessed the signing of cooperation arrangements between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European External Action of the European Union, held at the European Commission headquarters in Brussels. The cooperation arrangements were signed by HE Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani and HE High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini.
