Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Meets UN Officials

HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani met Monday with HE the Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and Emergency Relief Coordinator Mark Lowcock, and HE UN Secretary-General's Humanitarian Envoy Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Muraikhi.


Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Meets US Secretary of State's Envoys

HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani met today with the envoys of the US Secretary of State, HE Retired General Anthony Zinni , and HE Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Arabian Gulf Affairs Tim Lenderking, during their official visit to the State of Qatar.



Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Meets Italian Foreign Minister

HE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani met here on Thursday with HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Italian Republic Angelino Alfano. The meeting dealt with bilateral relations and means to support and develop them in addition to topics of mutual interest.


Qatar Calls on Human Rights Council to Immediately End Siege Countries' Violations

The State of Qatar has called on the Human Rights Council and its affiliated mechanisms to pay adequate attention to the violations of the siege countries and to immediately end them, hold those responsible accountable and to compensate those affected in a fair manner. This came in a statement presented by the Permanent mission of the State of Qatar to the United Nations Office at Geneva today at the 37th Human Rights Council Session in response to the statement made by the Permanent Representative of the United Arab Emirates on behalf of the four siege countries to statement delivered by HE Qatar's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs last Monday.


Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Meets Lebanese Ambassador

HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi met Wednesday with HE Ambassador of the Lebanese Republic to Qatar Hassan Najem. The meeting discussed bilateral relations and ways of enhancing them, means of promoting prospects of cooperation between the two countries, as well as issues of common concern. A number of officials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs attended the meeting.


Qatar, Kyrgyzstan Hold First Session of Political Consultations

The first session of the political consultations between the State of Qatar and the Kyrgyz Republic was held today at the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry headquarters in Bishkek. The Qatari side was chaired by HE Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr Ahmed bin Hassan Al Hammadi, while the Kyrgyz side was headed by HE Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyz Republic Nurlan Abdrakhmanov. The Qatari side included Charge d'Affaires of Qatar's Embassy to Kyrgyzstan Adel Ahmad Al Anzi and HE Director of the Department of Asian Affairs at Ministry of Foreign Affairs Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Hamar.


​Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Receives Copy of Credentials of Azerbaijan Ambassador

HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi received Tuesday a copy of credentials of HE Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Qatar Rashad Fail Oghlu Ismailov. HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs wished the Ambassador success in his duties, stressing to provide all support for the promotion of the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries to a closer cooperation in various fields.


Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Meets UN High Commissioner for Refugees

HE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani on Tuesday met with HE U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi, on the sidelines of the 37th session of the Human Rights Council, currently underway in the Swiss city of Geneva. The meeting reviewed enhancing prospects of cooperation between the State of Qatar and the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees.
