Qatar, Kyrgyzstan Hold Round of Political Consultation

Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar and the Kyrgyz Republic held here on Thursday a round of political consultations. The Qatari side was headed by HE Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Ahmed bin Hassan Al Hammadi, while Kyrgyz side was headed by HE Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nurlan Abdurahmanov. During the consultations round, they discussed bilateral relations and ways of supporting them and developing them in various fields in addition to the latest regional and international developments.


Kyrgyzstan Foreign Minister Receives Copy of Credentials of Qatar's Ambassador

HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan Erlan Abdyldayev has received a copy of the credentials of HE Abdullah Ahmed Al-Sulaiti, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar to Kyrgyzstan. HE the Foreign Minister wished HE the Ambassador success in his duties, and the bilateral relations further development.



Qatar Fund for Development announces scholarship program opportunities in cooperation with Margaret Thatcher Scholarship trust

It will provide 4 scholarships opportunities to academically excellent candidates from the University of Oxford with a preference for candidates normally resident in Qatar or Arab countries. The scholarship program provided by QFFD includes: Three Undergraduate scholarship opportunities known as Qatar Thatcher Scholarship. One graduate studies scholarship known as Oxford Qatar Thatcher Scholarship.



Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Receives Credential Copy of Ambassador of Mongolia

HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi received Thursday a copy of the credentials of HE non-resident Ambassador of the Republic of Mongolia to Qatar Chintushig Zorigt. HE the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs wished success to HE the new Ambassador in his mission, stressing to provide all support for the promotion of the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries to a closer cooperation in various fields.


Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Meets French Foreign Minister

Qatar's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani met here today with HE French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, during his visit to France. Discussions during the meeting dealt with bilateral relations, and ways of enhancing prospects of joint cooperation as well as a number of regional and international issues of common concern .


Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Meets President of French Friendship Group with the Gulf Countries

HE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani has met with President of the French Senate friendship group with the Gulf countries Jean-Marie Bockel. The meeting discussed the worrisome developments in the Gulf region recently. The two sides exchanged views on the irresponsible policies of some countries and their repercussions on the regional security of the Gulf region in particular, and other regional files in the Middle East in general.


Qatar Announces USD 50 Million Donation to UNRWA

Qatar has announced a USD 50 million donation to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) which operates in the Palestinian territories and asylum countries. This came during the State of Qatar's participation in the extraordinary ministerial meeting of UNRWA, which was held today at the headquarters of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Rome with the attendance of United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, and the High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs, Federica Mogherini.


The State of Qatar Inform UN Security Council and Secretary-General of UAE's Military Aircraft Violating Qatari Airspace

The State of Qatar informed the UN Security Council and the UN Secretary-General of a violation of Qatari sovereignty on the part of UAE. HE Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations Sheikha Alia Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani said in a message to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and to HE President of the UN Security Council for this month Ambassador Karel van Oosterom that a military transport aircraft CN-35 that belongs to the UAE violated the airspace of the State of Qatar on Sunday March 4.
